Jo Malone London

| By New Darlings

You guys have most likely heard about Jo Malone London…the company is one of those cult beauty (and home) favorites and we were so excited to visit their location here in Phoenix for the first time the other day. We’ve never been ones for big Valentine’s Day celebrations or gifts (last year we got our baking on!) and with one of our goals for the new year being to experience more together, an afternoon at the Jo Malone London Biltmore Fashion Park boutique was perfect. Now, you may think that sounds silly, because it’s pretty obvious we do spend a lot of our time together, but towards the end of the holiday season we realized just how little time we devote to trying new things together for date nights, weekend outings, or even just a different restaurant. Hey, we all fall into our routines, right? So we decided that it would be fun to each pick one new thing to do every month together. A trip to the Jo Malone London boutique, complete with hand massages and learning about their fragrances felt like the ultimate indulgence for a pre-Valentine’s Day outing together.Read More

Our Bedroom with Parachute Home

| By New Darlings

Our master bedroom has come a long way since we first moved into our house back in November.  It is a very modest, cottage-like space that we didn’t know we were looking for when we first started our house hunt almost a year ago.  Most modern master bedrooms are MASSIVE and have tons of closet space, and seating areas and when we moved to Arizona we thought “yeah, we’ll take one of those!”, but man, when we first saw this house in the thick of our house hunt, we felt something special in the old charm of a very practical space.  This Tudor has seen a thing or two since being built in 1930 and we are letting her do the talkin’.  In our last apartment we made a conscious decision to make our bedroom a room for sleeping not an extension of our office or living room and we brought that theme over to our house.  It isn’t a room with a tv, or laptops, or anything that would distract us from feeling rested.  In our first apartment, putting a tv in our bedroom felt like a luxury.  We loved curling up in bed and watching movies until we felt tired enough to fall asleep.  It sounds great, and it probably was for a while there, but it definitely kept us from the rest we really needed.  Distractions are all around us, and we work in a field that is constantly swallowed up with technology, so we felt that if there was one room in our house that was just for us it would be the bedroom.

Valentine’s Day Gift Guide 2017

| By New Darlings

How sweet is this old photograph of Rob’s grandparents? It’s from their dating days back in Cuba. The joy on their faces is enough to make even a stranger feel love and when we asked his grandpa to send over a few old photos (to have in our home), this one immediately brought a smile to our faces. It’s photos like these that remind us why we love documenting everything so much. It’s so special to have these memories to look back on and share years down the road. Can’t wait to have this framed, along with a few others. 🙂

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, we thought we’d share a few fun gift ideas that would be perfect for any guy or gal in your life. 🙂Read More

Ruffles + Print

| By New Darlings

It felt like we were getting a dose of east coast weather for a few days there and this coat, has become my go to for the chillier evenings here in Phoenix. It’s such a classic shape, which I feel like Sézane is quickly becoming known for. I paired it with one of their printed blouses, a tight ballerina-esque bun, and some comfy heelsRead More

Brands We Love: Loloi Rugs

| By New Darlings

A rug can really pull a room together and define it’s style. It’s like the third element to an outfit, or the cherry on an ice cream sundae. It just completes a space. We have most of the big furniture pieces in our dining room and living room, so now comes the fun part: textiles! Pillows, rugs, accents…we love it! We tend to lean more on the neutral side when it comes to rugs; it feels timeless and allows for an easy refresh with other accents in the room if you feel like mixing things up a bit.Read More
