Jo Malone London

Feb 08, 2017 | By New Darlings

You guys have most likely heard about Jo Malone London…the company is one of those cult beauty (and home) favorites and we were so excited to visit their location here in Phoenix for the first time the other day. We’ve never been ones for big Valentine’s Day celebrations or gifts (last year we got our baking on!) and with one of our goals for the new year being to experience more together, an afternoon at the Jo Malone London Biltmore Fashion Park boutique was perfect. Now, you may think that sounds silly, because it’s pretty obvious we do spend a lot of our time together, but towards the end of the holiday season we realized just how little time we devote to trying new things together for date nights, weekend outings, or even just a different restaurant. Hey, we all fall into our routines, right? So we decided that it would be fun to each pick one new thing to do every month together. A trip to the Jo Malone London boutique, complete with hand massages and learning about their fragrances felt like the ultimate indulgence for a pre-Valentine’s Day outing together.

We took some time with the amazing stylists at the boutique, who walked us through all their scents and different product lines which are broken down into six collections: citrus, floral, fruity, spicy, light floral, and woody. After finding a few we liked, we headed over to the Tasting Bar where we were treated to a luxurious hand and arm massage. It was such a fun way to unwind and relax together. The process reminded us a bit of how a mixologist makes a great cocktail, finding the perfect combination, layering fragrances with hand wash, lotions, and creams to create a one of kind personalized scent. It was such a fun experience…from picking out our own scents and guessing which one the other might choose. It was a different way to spend the afternoon and one that left us extremely relaxed and smelling quite lovely, we do say so ourselves. 😉 We brought home the Peony & Blush Suede cologne for her and Black Cedarwood & Juniper cologne for him, which make a perfect combination together. We’re really looking forward to brining in some of their bath oils, once we redo our master bath. The scents had us dreaming of endless bubbles in a clawfoot tub with Juliettte Gréco’s “Sous le ciel de Paris” playing in the background. Ha!

His: Urban Outfitters shirt | Bridge & Burn overshirt | ASOS jeans | Nisolo oxfords
Hers: Sézane blouse, boots, and belt | Madewell bag and jeans

What about you guys? Do you have a signature scent? Also, any Valentine’s Day plans? We wanna hear all about them!

  1. My husband and I have fallen into such a routine with the restaurants we at (and our nightly Netflix binges, haha), so I’ve been making it a BIG priority to explore new parts of town on the weekends. Lately we’ve also been trying new hiking trails once a week, and I am LOVING IT. We finally hit up one of the Hollywood Sign hikes, and I just shared a video of it if you’d like to see. 🙂

  2. I’ve heard so many good things about the Peony & Blush Suede cologne from Jo Malone! I’d love to give it a try. Right now I’m wearing Tocca Florence. 🙂
