This was the first year I put together a fall mantel and I don’t know why I never did it before. Adding some small pumpkins and gourds to the mantel, surrounded by our favorite festive candles (tabacco and patchouli is such a good one!) and some dried flowers and leaves made the living room look (and feel) so cozy and comfy. We went to the pumpkin patch recently and all picked out a pumpkin of our own, so of course we added them to the fireplace. They’ll probably hang there for a bit before we carve them. (See more fall activities here.) We changed the background on our Samsung Frame TV to a more festive fall scene with some golden leaves and trees and it really set the mood.
Overall it was super easy and I think its going to be a tradition I keep going for a while. I like to use a mix of real and faux pumpkins and gourds so that I can reuse them next year. I had a few from last year that we used to decorate our front steps. Below I rounded up all the decor pieces I used to create the decorative autumn mantel, along with some other festive fall accents, garlands and pumpkin wreaths.
