Things I Bought and Loved in April

favorite beauty and clothing purchases of April

After not updating the site consistently the last several months, if feels good to get back to posting several times a week. I always loved checking in on my favorite bloggers and content creators back in the day, before Instagram and TikTok took over. I love those apps for quick looks at what people are up to and loving, but I really want to focus on everything having a “home” for easy reference later on. I’m pretty good at updating the site about big things, like house plans, or styling looks, but the shelf life on those quick stories on Instagram is so short.

To kick things off with updating more, I wanted to share a round up of a few purchases I made this past month and have been loving. Take a look below at beauty and wellness items, to household products, along with clothing and a little something to keep yourself (and the kiddos) organized.

Kinto Water Bottle – I’m one of those people that only drink enough water in the day if I have a water bottle on hand. I would love to know the psychology behind it because just refilling a glass doesn’t do it for me. This Kinto water bottle is insulated and has an easy-straw-like spout which I prefer.

OZMA of California Wide Leg Pants – Last but not least, a beautiful set from OZMA that could be the only thing to make me look forward to the heat. I recently added this beautiful earthy Umber color to my collection of easy to wear pants for summer. They are so lightweight, made out of a beautiful silk noil material. Use my code: NEWDARLINGS15 to save. (For more discount codes to my favorite shops, click here.)

Gathre Caddy – These come in so many sizes. We incorporated two of the large ones in Oliver’s room for books and play figures. They’re quite sturdy and can hold a lot. Keep an eye out for a kid’s room update coming, too.

Bright Eyes Eye Cream – The last few weeks have been kicking me in the butt. So many eye creams claim to brighten but I’ve actually seen a difference with this one. Anything I’ve tried rom the Goldfaden MD brand has been a winner. Their lip balm is great too.

Dôen Samara Top – Such a feminine blouse for summer. I’ve been wearing it with denim, but am looking forward to pairing it with a long flowy skirt and minimal sandals going into summer.

Nopalera Cactus Flower Exfoliant – Rob purchased this for me a year or so ago for Mother’s Day and it’s one that I continue to replenish as a I run out. It’s such a gentle body scrub with the most delicate desert scent.

Three-in-One Classic Rectangular Bento – Finally went ahead and purchased a “lunchbox” for Ollie while on the go. This one is easy to clean and has compartments you can move around.

Bamboo Hairbrush – I’m a little embarrassed at how old my hairbrushes were. The condition was a little gross to be honest, so it was time for a new hairbrush. I’ve always been a fan of Package Free Shop, for all their amazing sustainable living options, and this compostable wooden hairbrush does the trick.

The reBoard Cutting Board – We have some beautiful wooden cutting boards that we use, but I wanted something a little easier to handle with Oliver helping us in the kitchen so much these days. This cutting board is BPA-free and made from kitchen plastic scraps and renewable sugarcane – how cool! They come in a ton of fun colors too.

Kosas Concealer – Another item I used daily that I ran out of and needed to replenish. If you’re looking for a clean beauty concealer – this is it. For more beauty favorites and my everyday makeup routine, click here

  1. Hi! You posted about a beige waterline eyeliner you’ve been using to brighten your eyes – would you mind please posting it again? Thank you!
