Once summer makes an appearance in the desert (usually showing its face earlier than we all like) I ditch the jeans and welcome dresses into my wardrobe almost exclusively. Maxi dresses, mini dresses, I don’t discriminate. It’s too hot to not have something flowy on. I used to hate getting dressed for summer here; it felt so difficult to put together looks that still felt polished yet practical for our climate.
I’m excited to partner with ShopStyle on today’s post to style some of my favorite Free People dresses from day to night. After I decided to leave my job in education, and before this blog became our full time job, I used to be a manager at my local Free People store here in Arizona, so my love for the brand runs deep. The company gave me the opportunity to experiment with fashion and I was able to see what a strong role social media could play in a company. Their pieces are super versatile and I love how they have been able to keep their cool girl/free spirited vibe, while still incorporating current trends and classic styles.

When we were in Jamaica, I packed quite a few sundresses. I loved throwing them over my swimsuit for a casual lunch after laying on the beach, and then dressing it up for the evening with some fun accessories for dinner and a show. I’m all about versatile pieces, especially when traveling so I let the accessories do the talking. Gone are the days of overpacking. 🙂
