It’s been a while since I’ve shared my-go to beauty and makeup products. I have really pared things back these days and have kept it simple. I wake up before Oliver and get ready, but I still don’t want to spend a ton of time on my makeup. Plus, now in my 30s, I really don’t want a lot of make up on my face, just a little something to enhance what I’m working with. Some of these are products I’ve been using since I was pregnant, and I think they do just that, while keeping things light and not clogging my pores. If you’re looking for a quick everyday makeup routine, here’s everything I use below…

Easy Everyday Makeup Routine
Ilia True Skin Serum Foundation – I can’t sing the praises of this clean formula enough. It evens out your skin tone without looking cakey. What else can ya ask for? I apply it with a damp sponge.
Concealer – Been using Kosas concealer for the last several years and I love the formula for dark under eye circles, plus the light 01 hue works great for fair skin tones. I’ve tried some others products occasionally, but I always go back to this one. I add a few dots of this product on the inside corners/below my eyes and a little around the nose to combat any redness. Before doing any of this, make sure you start with a hydrating under eye cream first.
Powder – I’m really finicky with powder. I don’t love a super matte look, but my t-zone gets oily throughout the day. With bangs, it could be the perfect storm, so I need something to dust over my foundation to keep things in place. I was happily surprised with the Fenty Beauty setting powder. It gives a light blurring effect, while still keeping your skin looking like skin. If you have a similar skin tone to myself, I went with the color: Butter. At $20 go for the travel size…it lasts quite a while. I like to apply with a large brush, but it comes with a little sponge applicator too.
Blush – I’m not picky with blush. I just like a rosey hue. Sometimes I even use Ilia’s Ilia’s High Impact lipstick in Wild Rose on the apples of my cheeks. I’m not kidding when I tell you I’m looking for ease in the morning. For a powder blush, I’ve been reaching for Nars’ Sex Appeal for a flushed rosey look.
Bronzer – I’m not big into contour. It looks great on some people, but it’s just not my thing. I little bronzer or darker eyeshadow on the tip of my nose and at my cheekbones is about as far as I’ll take it. Again, can’t get enough of Ilia. Their NightLite Bronzer in the lightest share works for me. I even use it as eyeshadow some days in the summer. It has a nice matte finish/no shimmer or sparkle.
Highlighter – Love adding this to my cheekbones and bridge of my nose for a little lift. This combo gives a good highlight without all that sparkle that are in most highlighters.
The Little One Eyeshadow Palette – This kit has everything you need, plus its a clean product which is always a plus and something to keep in mind. I brush a bit of the shimmer shadow over my lids and a touch of the matte brown in the crease, then done. Super simple and brightens my eyes. The darker hues are great for filling in your brows with an angled brush too. It’s a nice multi-use product to keep in your makeup bag. I feel like now, in my 30s, I have a good read on what colors and hues work for my skin tone, and this palette really does the trick.
Superhero Elastic Stretch Mascara – I love how dark this mascara is. It lengthens and doesn’t leave any dark marks under my eyes throughout the day, like some other mascaras I’ve tried.
Anastasia Brow Freeze – Brush up those brows and keep things in place. A little goes a long way with this product, so use sparingly. I try to wash my brow brush a few times a week with this product as it can become quite sticky.
Lips – I switch up lip products often, but I always reach for pinky/beige tones. Lately I’m loving something with a bit more shine: it’s moisturizing and makes my lips look plumper. YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Lipstick Balm in shade 121: Beige Satin does just that. For something with bit more pigment, I love Ilia’s High Impact lipstick in Wild Rose. Before any of this, I line my lips with this lip pencil. In your 20s, 30s, 50s…it doesn’t matter…go for all the bold hues!
Makeup Routine for Your 30s
Hopefully this gives you some inspiration for a quick makeup routine, especially for anyone in the same age range as myself. I know as we get older, our skin texture changes and less is more. These are all products I’ve been using for the last few years, (with the exception of the powder – but it has been an instant favorite) so they’re definitely tried and true and I can speak to their lasting wear throughout the day. Any questions or favorites you always have in your makeup bag? Let me know.
