When we first saw our now home, the fireplace in the living room was covered up by a huge piece of furniture that housed a large screen TV. I get it – I grew up in a household where the TV was always on, but covering up this beauty of a fireplace felt like a crime to me. It’s original texture and accents remind us of this home’s 1930 roots and brings us a lot of joy. We finally got a TV last year after not having one for the last five years. We dabbled with hanging it above the fireplace for a short while, but ended up moving it to an opposite wall and put back this beautiful brass arched mirror over the mantel, which originally rested there. It’s a real statement piece in the room and mirrors are always a great way to open up smaller spaces. Below we rounded up a few simple but impactful mirrors for over your mantel or large piece of furniture. Most come in various finishes, so don’t be afraid to click around if the photo doesn’t highlight your color choice. 🙂

2 – Arched Wood and Rattan Mirror
