I might sound like a broken record, but when I got pregnant with Oliver, we went through every product in our home. We combed through the ingredients in everything from makeup to cleaning products, and it really alarmed me how many cleaning products claimed to be safe and natural. Yet, so many still had several harmful ingredients. It freaked me out. I threw a ton away and the quest for cleaner products began. I was happy to come across Shaklee while researching, and they have become my new destination for clean, organic, and natural home cleaning products.
January is always a time for “new year, new you,” but what about a new way of cleaning? Something that I found really interesting while prepping for Oliver’s arrival, was how many baby focused cleaning products there were out there: baby soap for bottles, creams, laundry detergent, etc. I know babies’ skin is so much more delicate, but shouldn’t we all be taking these precautions? And why clutter up our counters and cabinets with multiple soaps and products when we could trust one safe product line?
For this post, I wanted to focus on my favorite kitchen items, but Shaklee has a ton of effective and organic cleaning products for all throughout your home, so if you’re curious about other items, click HERE. Shaklee was the first company in the US to come out with an entire line of clean, organic and natural home cleaning products in 1974.
organic Dishwashing Detergent
We’ve been cooking at home a lot more these days, so with many pots and pans, along with several baby bottles being used throughout the day, our dishwasher fills up quite quickly. We run it overnight and have loved Shaklee’s Dishwasher Automatic Powder Concentrate. I don’t have to wash anything before loading them in the dishwasher and I feel comfortable using it on Ollie’s bottles because it’s free of harmful chemicals typically found in dishwasher detergents.
Organic and Natural Dish Soap
We keep Shaklee’s dish soap at the counter for all of our special ceramics. This comes in super handy after breakfast time, as many of our favorite mugs are hand wash only. Their entire line is made right here in the United States and their bottles are biodegradable, which is always a plus when it comes to considering packaging.
Reusable Dish Cloths and Sponges
Another switch we’ve made in the kitchen, is cutting down (and hopefully all together) on our use of paper towels, by incorporating more reusable dish cloths and microfiber sponges into our cleaning routine.
Try their Starter Kit, HERE. For every Get Clean Starter Kit, they plant one tree. Pretty awesome, huh?
Do you guys have any natural home favorites for your kitchen? Please share with me! I’ve grown to be so obsessive with this stuff over the last year and love geeking out about it. 🙂 Let’s chat!
I love natural cleaning products and use Lemon for so many things. Like the microwave that is always a splattered mess… I cut a lemon in half and squeeze in a microwave safe bowl filled with a little water and turn it on for 3 minutes and then let it sit for five or so then just wipe down
This is definitely a company I’ll look into. I’m expecting a little one in the next 3 months and safer products have crossed my mind as I clean every evening. Thanks for sharing! I can’t wait to get my starter kit! 🤩
Eucalyptus oil and water in a spray bottle is my go to for surfaces throughout the house. It’s incredible at removing stains from counter tops, stainless steel, etc. Norwex is a great choice for their chemical free cleaning microfiber cloth range too!
Totally off subject…but, I’m shopping for a new kitchen faucet and yours is beautiful. What brand/finish is it plz?
