Before we built our Tucson house our draftsman took the 3D model of the house after we finalized the floor plans and basically just shifted it around the property line until we liked how it was situated. We wanted to the backyard of the house to face West, for ultimate sunset views from the pool, so we maximized on space there. We loved it, but then we were left with this odd narrow side patio that we didn’t really know what to do with.
We’ve only been in the house two-ish years which in the grand scheme of things is not very long at all. We’re just getting around to making the side patio a bit more useful and practical for our family.
We had put a dining table out there 2 Christmases ago before my parents came to visit, just so they a place to hang if they wanted (they’re big patio people), but other than that we didn’t do much. Last month we put together a lounge area featuring the pieces from my exclusive sustainably made collection with Rejuvenation and a few of their teak pieces, and it really brought the space to life.

Watch the full video transformation, ft me with my sweat rag and all because for some reason I thought it would be a good idea to do this during an extremely hot summer day in June.
This collection was such a dream to put together. As someone who loves creating inviting outdoor spaces, it was important to me that all pillows and rugs could stand up to different weather conditions. These rechargable LED lamps are perfect for the patio too, and come in so many colors!
I’ve had so many of these pieces outside since last October (here’s another shot from the other side of our backyard) and they still look beautiful through the seasons it all, but also are so versatile to style inside.
