Every time we go up north, we can’t help but take a ton of photos. Northern Arizona is such an escape for us and Flagstaff always reminds us of our early days living in Arizona. It reminds us why we fell in love with the state to begin with and what inspired us to travel and fine adventure in our own backyard. We recently spent the weekend up north and it was so refreshing. We spent the whole day outside, walking through the cute neighborhoods.
We tend to visit during fall and around Halloween, and each house reminds us of something out of a Halloween movie. The neighborhoods are so quaint and the people are so kind. It’s such a great little getaway.
After a little veggie burger action at Diablo Burger (always our lunch spot when we’re in town), we had to make our way to Buffalo Park. We spent hours there, walking the trails, hanging out and watching the sunset. Everything feels lighter there and bit more carefree.
It was a beautiful 57 degrees during the day, so we layered up in some new threads from REI’s Wallace Lake collection. We were so excited to partner with them on this new collection. We love the retro vibes, with the chunky knits, rich tones (the cognac is my favorite) and a mix of textures. REI Co-Op always has the perfect threads for that quintessential fall adventure.
I layered up in a neutral flannel and their Sherpa Bomber jacket, with the Wallace Lake bandana. I feel like this bomber is going to become a fall staple in my closet. I wore it all weekend and it was so comfy, and still stylish, in my opinion.
Rob found some fun pieces from the collection as well. This chunky knit was a favorite for the both of us (I love when he wears sweaters!) under a fleece hoodie. The hunter green feels super classic and the earth tones are always a win.
Do you guys have any favorite spots to visit each fall? We couldn’t believe the last time we visited Flagstaff was back in 2016. It’s only a two hour drive for us, but always raises our spirits. We drove back Sunday evening feeling refreshed and a little giddy for the season ahead of us.

Who makes that beautiful backpack?
We’ve done plenty of hiking but I always forget to bring a blanket so we can stop for a bit. Great idea!
I’m moving to PHX next year and just found your blog, and I’m in love!
Welcome to AZ. So glad you found our blog. It really is a beautiful place to live and so much versatility in the landscape from northern to southern AZ.
