Last week we were planning on having a holiday party, but as the date grew closer and obligations piled on we decided to cancel it very reluctantly. We had dreamt up some big plans for the backyard, pinterest mood boards, the works, but it didn’t come together in time. The guesthouse is still a few days away from being finished as well, so the backyard was not ready for guests. (It will be so worth it though! Can’t wait to share all the progress we’ve made.) Anyway, now we’ll just be extra prepared for next year. 😉 We were a little bummed out about the whole thing, and with just a few more sleeps until Christmas, we thought why not have a small holiday gift exchange with friends? Christmas movies, sweet treats, festive table settings, and warm drinks. Here’s a little peek at the set up.
We found all the candy cane striped napkins and dishes on Jet.com. We even ordered some cookies and candy through them too to pile on the three tiered dessert tray.
We tried to fight the red this holiday season, but with just a few days left until Christmas, we couldn’t fight it any longer. Obsessed with these dishes!
We added a pine coat and fresh greenery to each dish with a festive card and had some espresso brewing. A few tunes (check out our favorite Christmas records here) and Christmas Vacation to follow, made for a pretty festive and cozy evening.
