Anytime we visit a new place, we spend some time before we get there scoping out some fun restaurants, parks, and shops. Taking a look back through our photos from San Francisco, we realized there are so many aesthetically pleasing spots, perfect for that IG photo-op or to fill your family photo album with. In addition to our past SF City Guide, we rounded up 10 of our personal favorite photo-worthy spots in SF. Keep reading to check them out and bookmark a few for your next visit!
- ALAMO SQUARE
Let’s start with the obvious, Alamo Square…home to the Painted Ladies. Grab your camera and a blanket, pack a picnic, and enjoy all the beautiful architecture SF has to offer. For more photos of our favorite homes in the city, check out our SF Victorian home tour post, here. - DOLORES PARK
We wish Arizona had more parks and fields like this one. Play a game of frisbee or people watch. You catch a pretty amazing view of the city from here. - THE MILL
On our last trip to SF, we came here twice! Get your coffee, toast, and pizza fix here. Our friend Vincent jokes that you have to get your “hipster toast overhead/table top” photo while here, and we do it every time. 😉 Hah! The atmosphere is pretty laid back and the decor is minimal and clean, with a ton of white, natural wood, and subway tile. - STABLE CAFE
A super cute and tasty spot for lunch, this cafe has a courtyard that is pretty darn dreamy with a ton of greenery everywhere.
- FERRY BUILDING MARKETPLACE
This was our first time here and boy have we been missing out. You can get beautiful shots of the water, along with ample opportunities for vibrant shots of the huge selection of fresh veggie and fruit vendors that line the streets. We spent a good portion of our morning here while we were in town, snapping photos, listening to the live music, and enjoying some fresh salmon! (You can view more photos from the marketplace in a previous post, here.) - SF MOMA
Our favorite place to spend a rainy, cozy afternoon. We had the pleasure of seeing the Munch exhibit while we were in town which was really special. In addition to the amazing artwork, they have a spacious rooftop terrace, with great views of the city. - LOMBARD STREET
Pretty famous and a huge tourist attraction, the winding street is lined with colorful flowers and homes. Definitely a must see. We snapped a photo from the top of the hill and felt like we were in a game of Mario Kart. 😉 - SAINT FRANK
Another well thought out coffee shop, that pays close attention to design and details, with white hex tile and more natural wood. A calming place to get some work done and get a good cup of coffee. - PAXTON GATE
A fun gift shop with an array of home trinkets. They have a great plant selection in the back of the shop with a small succulent filled courtyard, perfect for any crazy plant lady. - CRISSY FIELD
Our favorite (and in our opinion the best) spot to snap that famous bridge photo and take a stroll along the water. Watch the fog roll in and catch the sunset. We always make sure to spend some time here when visiting. (Photo above from an older post, which you can view here.)
There are of course, a TON of other noteworthy places in SF, these are just a few of our favorites that we always pass along to friends when they’re planning a trip. Hope you guys enjoyed!

Thank you for this list, but please do tell me where the cognac shoes are from in the first photo of you walking down the street in the rust colored sweater?
I love St. Frank and the Ferry Building. SF is so much fun! I hope to go to Stable cafe next time!
