We are huge advocates for affordable style. We’ve always believed that dressing well has more to do with fit, quality, and versatility than just picking the “best” brand off the rack and throwing it on. Every year around this time, we try to add pieces that can be worn in different ways, as layers, or accessories that work for any occasion. Mixing high and low. It’s definitely more strategic than it looks. Picking out neutrals, timeless patterns, and comfortable shoes are very important to us. Nordstrom Rack is definitely not a new kid on the block, but we’re late to the game with discovering just how great the deals are. We often have trouble justifying an expensive watch or bag, so it’s been great to add some new pieces to our wardrobe without feeling guilty. 😉 Here are a few favorites for him and her we’re currently loving…
HIS
Overshirt/Button-down
Button-downs have been my go-to for as long as I can remember. I’ve never been a huge t-shirt guy and I always feel ready for any occasion with a fitted long (or short) sleeved collared shirt. The Kooples, Saturdays NYC, and Rag & Bone are a few of my favorites for this.
Monk Strap Shoes
Surprisingly (or maybe not, hah!), these have been a pretty versatile shoe lately. I packed them for our trip to Canne and were able to wear them with a linen shirt and white pants during the day, then dress them up with a suit or blazer and denim, depending on the occasion in the evening. Are you guys a fan of the monk strap?
A Good Watch
Accessories are always the easiest way to dress up the most simple of outfits, for both men and women.
HERS
Classic Shades
I recently picked up this pair by Kate Spade and love the slight cat eye style to them. Thinking these are going to be a staple moving forward.
Sundresses
I used to be big on dresses when we lived in NY. Dresses with tights, dresses with sandals, dresses with boots. Any season, any combo, but I think the casual desert style took over when we moved and I’m ooking to add a few new ones to my closet this season. Light and airy is my motto going into summer. Love how this one can transition from day to night so easily too.
Block Heels
These chunky ankle strap heels have been great with boyfriend jeans, sundresses, and even formal wear. I wore the same pair in black while on our Scandinavian cruise.
That dress looks sooo cute on you, Christina!
