Happy Wednesday! Hope everyone’s been having a good week! We’ve been graced with a few rainy days over here and we’re certainly not complaining. When there is 100% chance of rain in Phoenix, you bust out your umbrella, throw on your rain boots and trench coat, and head out for the day!

We’ve been keeping busy over here getting things in order for the house renovations and some upcoming travel. We go out of town next week and will be having our kitchen and bathrooms remodeled while we’re away. We are so excited about coming back to a new place, well it won’t fully be done, but at least some changes will be underway. Progress guys!! 🙂 It’s a little crazy to leave while so many changes will be going on, but one of our plans is to skim-coat the whole house, which basically just means removing the texture from all the walls. This is a messy process with a lot of dust, so our contractor and a few friends who had it done recommended we be away while that is completed. Back in November as I was sitting on the floor of our apartment, finishing packing everything up before our move, Rob came into our bedroom saying that we should go to Paris. At first I thought he was nuts….we were just buying our first house, but the tickets were crazy cheap so we jumped on the opportunity. It felt so far away at that point, but now we leave next Wednesday and couldn’t be more excited to explore Paris together. This has been a trip we have literally been dreaming about as teenagers in his parents’ backyard. There’s so much more we can say, but we’ll save that for another time. So, with that trip already planned, we figured we’d take our friends’ advice and get everything started on the house while we’re gone. It should take about three days and then they can begin on retiling the bathrooms and kitchen. We’re a little nervous, but have some amazingly sweet friends checking in on the space while we’re away, so that definitely puts any nerves we have at ease. Can’t wait to show you guys what we’ve been working on!

So back to the other day…we threw on some of our rain gear favorites, finished selecting the finishes for the bathrooms (you can see some inspiration on our Pinterest board here), did a little food shopping, and then spontaneously decided to catch a movie. What rebels! 😉 Haha! It was an unexpected date night that we both really needed after feeling like our minds were being pulled in several different directions. Plus, movie theater popcorn is a pretty great way to end off any day, right?

OMG you are coming to Paris!! I’m in Paris at the moment and would love to meet you!
Enjoy your trip! Can’t wait to see more of your home improvement!
And of course: I love these outfits!
Where are the non rain boot shoes from? They’re exactly what I need in Boulder!
I got them from Moorea Seal. They’re linked above. 🙂 They’re surprisingly super comfy…great walking shoes for running errands and such. Xo
I can’t wait to see your photos and the outfits you’re going to wear in Paris! You could show us a little bit more about your “packing process”. What are the essentials? Very excited!
I can’t wait to see the progress you guys are making with the house. And how exciting to go to Paris! I’m ashamed to admit that I’ve never actually been to Paris, despite living in the UK. Though I have been to Disneyland Paris if that counts haha!
Have the best time!

Can I ask what size you got in the Everlane tee? I think we’re fairly similar, so asking you always helps 🙂 Also, has it shrunk at all in the wash? Sometimes I forget to take care of items that are 100% cotton!
Sorry, just saw this comment now. I order an XS in their items. Their womens items are usually very boxy so I guess you could size down too if you want it more form fitting. It hasn’t shrunk at all in the wash. I always just use cold water and tumble dry low…haven’t had any problems with it. 🙂 Hope it helps!
