travel bags c/o Away and Nisolo
We’ve been home from Tucson for about 24 hours and soon will be boarding a flight to Seattle, for a mix of work of leisure. We have been wanting to visit the city for so many years now, and are so excited to finally be taking a trip. It was a little last minute and unexpected, but sometimes that’s the best way to travel. (Or at least that’s what I’m telling my prone-to-planning self.) We will be shooting some fun content, along with seeing some friends while we’re there. It’s amazing how blogging and photography has brought us close to so many kind and talented people, that we might have otherwise never met. We’re looking forward to catching up with those we’ve missed and exploring the city.
Any Seattle recommendations? Food, shops, sightseeing? Please share them with us!
We’ll be sharing bits and pieces of the trip on Instagram while we’re away, if you’d like to follow along. Also, poll time…IG stories or Snapchat? Now that some time has passed with the IG update, what’s everyone feeling?

Oh you’re just going to love Seattle! We went in May and I’m already dying to return. Take the ferry over to Bainbridge Island and eat lunch at the Harbour Public House, it was SO good. And you can’t go wrong with King’s Hardware for burgers, Percy’s & Co. for cocktails and The Wandering Goose for brunch!

Thanks so much for the recommendations, Lauren! 🙂
IG stories! It’s nice to have everything on one app. 🙂 Also have a fun trip! The Seattle Underground Tour is pretty neat.
We’re kind of liking IG stories too. 😉 Thanks so much for the Seattle recommendation! xo
I’m all for IG stories…I know it is the unpopular vote but it keeps things in one place and I’m all for minimizing the apps I use!
Agreed!
It’s a beautiful week in Seattle! Seattle design week is also going on, a lot of great talks and shows from local artists highlighting the power of change. http://designinpublic.org/event/
Current food favorites: The London Plane & Pie Bar
Have a wonderful visit.

Have a great time in Seattle! I’m a coffee shop kinda gal, so I’m still thinking about the iced rooibos latte from Cederberg Tea House 😀 -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
If you have time there is the most quaint little tiny town called Roslyn about an hour away from Seattle. Great hiking, gorgeous views, artists shops, restaurants and breweries all packed into a town with 2 blocks! It was the filming location for the tv show Northern Exposure back in the early 90’s.
The Walrus and the Carpenter in Ballard.
You MUST have breakfast or brunch at The London Plane!!!
Ba Bar is a great place to have a bite to eat. You’ve got to visit pike place of course. There is a hot sauce shop down there, and if your into hot sauce its pretty much like heaven, lol. There is also a really cool spice shop called World Spice Merchants that is fun to check out. And the Farris wheel is touristy but a nostalgic/fun place to visit in the evening.
I hope you guys can make a trip to Portland sometime!!!
Enjoy it here! We’ve been having some great weather. My favorite brunch is Tallulah’s and ice cream is either Kurt Farm Shop or Molly Moons! There’s a great little boulevard on Queen Anne where you can catch the sunset in the evenings (8th Ave W) Have fun and can’t wait to see your posts from the trip!
Love the whole interior design <3

Looks like you had a great trip to Seattle, any places you’d recommend going as I’ll be out there in a couple months? Also I kinda like the IG stories too, definitely brings you closer to those you follow. One thing I’m not a fan of though is that your timeline is no longer in chronological order, I wish there was a way to turn that off!
Hi Steven, Thanks for following along on IG with us. We will have a Seattle travel guide posted on the blog this week and can’t wait to share the places we visited. It seems like you’ll be going during prime autumn weather! Lucky! 🙂 Also, we couldn’t agree more about the changes to IG with the timeline out of order and such. We miss so many people’s posts that way. :/
Anyway, Thanks again for reading!
Enjoy your trip! I lived in Portland and used to make weekend trips up to Washington – I cannot wait to go back, although it won’t be for a while because I currently live in Austin (and I have to say I’m loving it here as well!).
I love your blog and have been following it for a while now – you are such a good looking couple and have an amazing style!

Definitely Walrus and the Carpenter and Ba Bar! A few other recommendations: Stateside is really, really delicious and a walk or bike ride around Green Lake is a great daytime activity. Also, if you’re in Ballard, Delancey for pizza and Essex for drinks next door. Have fun!
