New York will really spoil you when the holidays come around.  Growing up there, we were so used to how over-the-top everything was and how you couldn’t walk outside without being reminded that the holiday season had arrived.  This will be our third Christmas in Phoenix, and while it hasn’t really gotten any more festive, we definitely work hard to create that festive feeling we always had growing up.  Every year, we try to take some fun, christmasy photos to capture the feeling of the holidays.  This year, we decided to shoot some photos with our new friend, Tish. She just moved here from New Mexico and we’ve been talking about taking some photos together, as she begins to grow her photography business here in Arizona.  We figured this was the perfect time to throw on some festive threads and have a fun shoot together.We reached for some new pieces from Urban Outfitters;  plaid and lace always feel like Christmas time to us and definitely brought back memories of dressing up for Christmas cards as kids. It’s been chilly enough to wear sweaters and jackets daily (love how soft this one is), so we layered up and took full advantage of the brisk air.  Urban Outfitters has some great jackets this year and we just might have ordered one or two for some family members back east.  Every year around this time we talk about Christmas traditions we had as kids and gifts that we would receive. I always remember getting a new winter coat as one of my Christmas gifts as a kid. It was always the biggest puffer jacket with a fur hood and gold buttons. Haha Did anyone else used to wear those too? 🙂
