Hi guys! I’m back with another sneakers post. When I shared this previous blog entry on IG with adidas and Finish Line, I was so surprised with all the comments and everyone’s perspective on sneakers. Guess I’m not the only one who was a little bewildered with wearing sneakers with anything other than work out gear. 😉 While I’ve been embracing sneakers and skirts for fall, I’ve always been loving how they look layered up with an oversized knit and denim.
For this post I styled the adidas Originals POD-S3.1 casual sneakers with a cable knit sweater, plaid coat and some classic denim. The mix of textures and proportions are more in your favor (in my opinion) than with a skinny jean here, making the sneakers less chunky looking and the overall look balanced. I’ve been eyeing this pair in pink, as well.
Have any of you guys embraced the chunky sneaker trend? I couldn’t get behind the huge designer sneakers looks that I saw popping up all over IG a few months back, but I think incorporating a real athletic sneaker into everyday styles definitely works, especially when you’re on the go.
After exploring on our Scandinavian cruise last year, I quickly realized all the ladies wore sneakers to brunch with their long black coats, chunky sweaters and cool sunglasses. Remembering their practical, yet stylish looks definitely inspired me to put this look together. 🙂
