When I was younger I was very against sneakers with any sort of dressy clothing. I distinctly remember being five years old, getting ready to go to a friend’s birthday party and my mom had me in a frilly dress with matching socks and sneakers. I remember telling my mom, “you can’t wear a dress and sneakers”. What a hoot! Now many years later, it’s one of my favorite (comfy) weekend looks.
When we travel I often wear sneakers on the plane and during the day while walking around new cities, so I’ve become more comfortable mixing and matching them with various outfits. When Finish Line reached out to partner and share a few of their new adidas sneakers, I immediately loved the idea. The new colors and styles are super versatile and cute, plus they’re great for wearing casually, running errands, or getting a workout in. But I’ll be completely transparent here, we snapped these photos on our way to grab coffee and treats (pumpkin cookies anyone?!), no gym run this weekend. 😉 Speaking of which, we need to get back on a good schedule with that. Maybe these new sneaks will inspire me. Haha!
Anyway, what do you guys think? Are you a sneakers and dress/skirt kind of person? I’m wearing the adidas Edge Bounce Running Sneakers in black here. I really like these too.
Over the years I learned the secret to not looking like an 80s dad, is to just put together my outfit how I normally would and then throw on my favorite kicks. I used to think about it wayyy too much, but I really like how a sweatshirt or oversized sweater and sneakers could balance out a skirt or dress for an effortless feel.
Here’s some of my adidas favorites below:
