Every now and then I get sucked back into my obsession with the sixties. My old dorm room was plastered with photos of The Beatles…particularly George Harrison and Pattie Boyd, Paul McCartney and Jane Asher. And of course, there were my favorite black and white images of Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsberg. The straighter hair, thick fringes, and mini skirts always seemed so fun and care free to me. Palm Springs oozes with that same style and spirit. Everytime we visit I can’t help but think about how it was a hideaway for movie stars “back in the day” and what their summer style was like.
I picked up this sleeveless high neck dress from Sézane a while back and figured Palm Springs was the perfect place to bust it out. The crochet texture paired with loafers and a straw bag was my nod to all those vintage photographs I had saved. It was comfortable and cool for a day of vintage shopping.
Who are some of your style icons? Do you guys identify with a certain decade in fashion more than another? I would love to hear!

I loved my dresses mid- to late-60’s! I think it was the simplicity & the A-line structure that appealed to me the most. The shorter versions didn’t come in until about 1970 & later in my region. Today I could wear the longer versions … but my mini-dress days are well past. Nice to see the come back! You wear them well.
What a fun bag! I’ve been really into all things 60’s lately. 🙂
I absolutely adore this dress, and your hair is absolutely gorgeous as always!
