We recently overheard a conversation between an older couple talking about how “dating is dead”. They were referring to the fact that the majority of young people go from hook-up to hook-up rather than the traditional date. Being out of the dating game for quite some time, we aren’t necessarily sure if this is true, but we couldn’t imagine a world without dates…specifically ice-cream dates.
Last weekend, we went on a little date to the Sugar Bowl in Scottsdale. It’s the perfect place to satisfy your sweet tooth and has been around since 1958! With the old-school decor, arcade, and the best vanilla milkshake around (in our opinion), there’s really nothing not to love! With our schedules getting more and more busy these days, we’re finding it’s important we set aside time to do the things we love and to make sure we always have a date-night (or day) thrown in each month. It was so nice to just stroll around Old Town, take in the hints of spring, and joke around over a sweet treat together. Back in New York we used to check out old diners from the 50s and the Sugar Bowl was so reminiscent of that. There’s something charming and romantic about being in a place that is so clearly from a different time. We’ve always been fascinated by the music, clothing and culture of years past. (That probably explains our obsession with Midnight in Paris.)
It felt pretty appropriate that on this particular day we were sporting some threads from our friends’ vintage shop, Meek Vintage. They sell vintage clothing ranging from the 1930s-1980s and have some pretty fun housewares and textiles, too (like this printed rug, we’re swooning over). They’re running a flash sale this weekend on their instagram page, so be sure to check it out!
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend! TGIF!

Unfortunately, I think it’s true ! Even if in Paris, I never see anyone really “dating” like I imagine people were before. Romance is lost or something. It’s a shame ! With my boyfriend, we love to date so much, we just miss time. But we try to take it 🙂
I’m sure you two had a wonderful Valentine’s day !
Love xx
