We’ve received a few emails and very sweet comments on instagram regarding hair care! We figured it was about time we share our favorite products, for both guys & gals!

Sulfate-free Shampoo & Conditioner: Shampoos & conditioners containing sulfate strip your hair of it’s natural oils, can irritate your scalp and cause frizziness.  Also, if you want to protect your color and/or hair treatment (such as keratin hair treatment) your stylist will suggest one of these shampoos & conditioners.  Burt’s Bees is a great go-to of ours.  Pureology is another favorite, but can be a bit pricey. (Amazon usually has good deals on buying both together at a discounted price.)

Hair Masks: Deep conditioning can help transform dry & damaged hair immensely! One of our favorite hair masks to do is a coconut oil treatment.  It’s 100% natural and organic and easy to find at your local food store.  Leave on for about two hours, while you clean the house or catch up Netflix! Another long time favorite is Macademia Natural Oil Deep Hair Repair Mask.  It smells amazing and makes your hair super soft! You can also use this in place of conditioner in the shower once a week.

-Brushes & Combs: All brushes are not created equal and our vanities drawers are filled with several!  Paddle brushes are great for blow drying long hair to get out moisture.  Then go over in sections with a round brush to create volume.

Protect: Before blow drying hair it’s important to use a hair protectant, especially if you’re going to go over it again later with a styling tool (like a straightener or curling wand).  The Moroccan Oil line is great for this.  Their protectant spray and volumizing mousse never fail!  You can also add a bit of their smoothing serum on the ends of your hair to help with split ends and create a sleek look! Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum is a great alternative, that will save you a few bucks. 🙂

Filtered Shower Head: Last but not least, invest in a filtered shower head! It’s one of the best things we did (for our hair, haha).  Once we moved to Arizona, we saw a big difference in our hair… it was definitely dryer, which led to more split ends.  We purchased a filtered shower head a while back and don’t know how we never used one before.  The filter removes up to 99% of chlorine and chemicals from your shower water and leaves our hair super soft & healthy!
