A new season to us always means a new batch of records. Last year, we posted our essential autumn records and while we can’t claim that these are more essential, we feel that they are equally as important to our record collection. When we first started dating we used to make iTunes playlists for each season and I definitely remember our first fall as a couple and taking long drives around town, listening to Modest Mouse and The Microphones while getting to know each other. Certain albums never get old and these are some of our favorites for these cooler, pumpkin filled, October days. Enjoy!
Hope you guys had a great weekend! We spent a lot of our time inside trying to avoid the scorching heat that awaits us just outside our front door. Time at home for us definitely means lots of music playing all day. Music is a big part of our lives and we love to integrate it into our snapchats and Instagram stories as well. A lot of you guys have asked about the music we have been playing, and we loved making Playlist No. 01 back in May, so we figured we’d come back with Playlist No. 02. Hope you guys enjoy!
It’s definitely feeling like spring in Phoenix. Warm days and cooler nights have been so ideal, and we love having music to go along with the seasons. If you follow along with us on Snapchat you’ve probably seen what records we are currently spinning, car ride dance moves, and lots of air guitar. Below you can find some songs we are currently loving. Some are older and some are fresh off the shelves, but (for one reason or another) they all make us feel like it’s definitely spring time. Enjoy!
This past weekend was the Chipotle Cultivate Festival here in Phoenix, and we had the privilege to work alongside one of the featured partners for the event, IZZE. For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the event, the Cultivate Festival brings in some great musicians and mixes that in with some top notch cooking presentations by some of the world’s best chefs. (Do names like Aaron Sanchez and Amanda Freitag ring a bell?) It was the perfect way to spend a Saturday in Phoenix. We had just gotten back from our San Francisco trip, so it was nice to get thrown back into town in the best way possible. Our friend Cheyanne met us at the event and we had a blast wandering all over the festival grounds. We ate some tacos, took a ton of photos, and danced a bit in between. It was an absolute pleasure to get to hang with the lovely ladies from the IZZE team who kept us from ever feeling thirsty with some of our favorite IZZE flavors. READ MORE
Things have been pretty quiet around here. We’ve been nursing colds for the past two weeks and over the last few days, it really amplified. Although there’s been a lot of coughing, sniffling, and sneezing, we’ve really enjoying taking it easy at home. We’ve gotten into the holiday spirit…watching movies and listening to some of our favorite Christmas albums in our pjs, staying cozy.
Some of you have asked us on instagram what record players we recommend. We don’t have a lot of room for a huge set up, so some of the all-in-one record players with built-in speakers are our go-to. You can check out some of our favorites here or check out some below:
Temperatures in Phoenix are (slowly) dropping and there seems to be pumpkins adorning the front of every house we pass. Lately we’re finding ourselves curling up on the couch and zoning out to some of our favorite autumn records. It’s funny how music can pair perfectly with a season. There are certain albums we always find ourselves reaching for when fall rolls around. Some are perfect lyrically for these months, referencing the leaves changing and the chill in the air, while others are albums we just found ourselves really getting in to this time of the year. To us there are just some albums that feel like autumn. Here are some of our favorites, along with a few top audio picks to spruce up your collection.
This past weekend was so refreshing! We didn’t have any big commitments or plans, so we took Saturday morning slow and stayed in our pjs just a tad bit longer than we should have. Easy weekends like these are always our favorite, especially after a long week. We make breakfast together, get the coffee and tea brewing, and turn on some of our favorite records. The light that pours in from our dining room in the early hours each morning makes our silly dream swapping, coffee talks that much more enjoyable. Lately we’ve been making coffee for two and I’ve been passing on the tea. The bitterness of coffee was always too much for me, but I’ve been loving the vanilla flavor of Leaner Creamer. It’s all natural and dairy free, made from powdered coconut oil, which is great if you have a lactose sensitivity like me. Plus, it smells so good!
Breakfast is always best with our favorite records spinning in the background. Here’s what we’ve been listening to lately:
We are Robert and Christina: husband and wife, photo takers, adventurers and best friends. We like to laugh too hard, dance all night, and explore together. Here is a little glimpse into our lives in sunny Phoenix, Arizona.
