What Our Weekend Rituals Look Like These Days

What does a normal weekend look like for you guys? Saturday and Sunday are often the days we venture out of the house early, grab brunch, stop at our favorite local boutiques and plant stores, and then usually grab a treat or two to enjoy out or at home. It’s amazing how we form these rituals without even realizing. Sunday is our plant watering day and planning day for the week ahead…meal prep (we’ve been cooking dinners at home so much more lately together – its been so nice!), blog scheduling and most recently baby prep!

The nursery is slowly coming along, and we can’t wait to share it with you guys. We’ve also been talking more about the whole car upgrade over here. We’ve been narrowing down our SUV choices using Auto Navigator®, Capital One’s digital auto financing tool, and loved all of your suggestions on our previous post. There were so many Volvo suggestions! We’re also checking out the BMW X5, Hyundai Santa Fe (we had this as a rental recently after getting into a minor car accident a few weeks ago when Rob’s parents were visiting – thankfully everyone is okay), Kia Sorento, and Volkswagen Atlas.

Capital One Auto Navigator

Auto Navigator has been a huge help with comparing our different options (we can search nearly four million cars from almost 13,000 participating dealers!). With Auto Navigator we have the option to pre-qualify before heading into the dealership (with no impact to our credit score!). This step and determining our budget are next on our weekend to-do list. It’s been nice to do all the research at home and take our time with it all. Capital One’s Auto Learning Center has also been so useful as we work on narrowing down some family friendly cars.

With the baby due in July, we know the heat is going to start to take a toll on us and we’ll probably be itching to escape the house. We like to be on the go, even if it’s just getting out of the house during the day for coffee and a treat or checking out our local vintage shops. We didn’t realize it until now, but it’s funny how much we’re in the car on the weekends, going in and out of shops, until we crash at home later in the day. Anyone else like this?

We’re hoping to spend a few weekends up in northern Arizona after our little boy arrives, because Phoenix in August isn’t ideal. Ha! It will be an easy first trip. We’re also mapping out some easy road trips for fall. I feel like our first road trip to Nashville was what kick started our love for traveling, so it will be fun to explore more of the US as a family of three.

What do your weekends usually look like? Do you guys like to take little driving trips? They were always so special to us as kids, and we can’t wait to continue the tradition with our new little addition.

  1. Loving your weekend routine! We love going for brunch, and I love a good plant shop! The Sorento is the next car I want – I have a Sportage right now and love it, but want a bigger one for when we have more kids!
