Marble Bathroom Refresh + Parachute’s Bath Line

Marble and Brass Bathroom Remodel

If you’ve been following along with us on our home renovation, you might have read about our last minute decision to revamp the bathroom. Just like the first stab at our kitchen renovation, our original master bathroom renovation was full of messy tile and grout work, which made us crazy every time we stepped foot in the room. Bathrooms should be the exact opposite…you should feel like you’re stepping into a spa and have that ultimate place to unwind each evening.

As a little refresher, here’s a peek at what the bathroom looked like when we moved in…

…and then after the first round of renovations. (below)

And now, the finished product!

For real, we’re not redoing this bathroom again Ha! I feel like we finally accomplished that spa-like feel and with just a few changes, the bathroom has reached it’s peak relaxation potential. We kept all of the same finishes, i.e brass fixtures, same vanity, etc., but we dressed things up with some amazing new product from one of our favorite home lines: Parachute. You are probably very familiar with their bed linens, and their bathroom line does not disappoint. We were super lucky to visit their flagship store in Venice the last time we were in California, and my oh my, was it a feast for the eyes.

Even though this part of the renovation was probably the least intense, it feels like the master bathroom was one of the biggest transformations for us. Changing the tile and swapping out the matte hex for marble immediately made the space feel more open and soothing. We went with the Manhattan Marble from our local Arizona Tile, and I’m so glad we did. We originally wanted to go with a Cararra Marble, but the veining felt too prominent, so we were happy to find the Manhattan Marble which had a softer feel. We did the whole space in 12×24″ pieces of tile and had the same tile cut into more narrow pieces to create a herringbone pattern for the floor.

We really wanted to layer the neutrals and textures in this space, with pops of brass and wood accents.

Let’s dive into both of our favorite parts of the room: the bathtub area. We kept the same tub from the first renovation, but I cannot believe how different it looks now. We had the little ledge where the plumbing is, built out about an inch and half more from the wall, so that we had more room for bath favorites. It’s a cleaner edge now and it houses all of our favorite creams and bath salts. I’m such a sucker for baths this time of year, so I was excited to try out Parachute’s Sleep Time Bath Salt. It has such a relaxing scent and it’s plant based too!

Instead of tiling all the way up to ceiling and around the windows as we did in the past, we decided to stop the tile about three quarters of the way up the wall, and finish it off with a marble ogee molding accent piece. I really love how it gives a classic feel to the room, but isn’t overly stuffy.

Brass Bathroom Mirror and Marble

We kept the sink area pretty much the same, except for a few details, but first let’s talk about these waffle towels! When we opened these up for the first time I was immediately brought back to childhood. Now before you laugh at me, does anyone remember those soft cloths you might have been rocked to sleep with at night or used during feedings? Well I do, because I slept with mine for a few years as a kid. Okay – go ahead and laugh…anyway, it was such a source of comfort and that is what these waffle towels remind me of. Parachute is known for their bedding, but their bathroom collection is just as luxurious. Something I’ve always struggled with is finding a soft towel that actually dries you and isn’t just fluffy, so I was very excited to stock our bathroom with a few favorites from their collection.

The Starter Bathroom Bundle is a must for anyone looking to stock their linen closet with all the essentials. It comes with bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, and even a bathmat! They’re 100% Turkish cotton and are incredibly soft, yet absorbent. Pictured above is the tasseled hand-knit bath rug.

Marble Vanity with Brass Accents

Over at the vanity we kept things simple with the same prefabricated vanity we had originally, but dressed it up with some new knobs and drawer pulls. We switched out our previous black mirrors for the same style in brass from Rejuvenation and added some globe lighting to match with the rest of the house. I’m so happy we kept a cohesive feel throughout the house and the globe lighting helps keep things playful with some of the traditional finishes.

Brass Bathroom Faucet

White Bathroom with MarbleTo add a bit of warmth (and comfort!) we made sure to include some hints of oatmeal from Parachute’s bath collection as well. They have some amazing waffle textured robes and slippers that bring that hotel experience into your home. The beige tone is such a nice compliment to the veining in the marble too — yes, these are things I think about. (Guilty! Ha!) We added a pop of brass over on this side of the room too, with a few robe hooks. Anyway, are you guys robe people? I feel like these have been so indulgent feeling. I might gift everyone in my family a robe and slipper set for the holidays.

In the last bathroom reveal, there were a lot of questions about where the shower was, so here it is in all its glory. 😉 We kept the same shower doors and just switched out the hardware for brass ones.

So what do you guys think? We rounded up all the pieces from the bathroom remodel below, including all of our must-haves from Parachute to help you get the look at home.

  1. Hello Christina, your living is amazing! Your fashion style, your style of living are the big inspiration for me. Thank U.

  2. Love the look! Question for you: Where are your pulls and knobs from? I’ve been looking for gold pulls/knobs to match the Purist line that would fit this vanity for ages and haven’t been able to find anything.
