Brass Hardware: Top 5 Places to Shop for Cabinet Knobs and Drawer Pulls

Sep 26, 2018 | By New Darlings

We’re a little obsessed with brass hardware around here. That brushed gold and brass style is still in style in our books, and with our new home renovation we’re making sure there’s hints of it in each room. Brass and gold tones can get a little tricky with all the finish options. We’re fans of the brushed gold and satin brass look. As long as you stay away from polished brass, you’ll keep things fresh and current verses looking like your aunt’s bathroom from the 80s. 😉

If you’re looking for new hardware for your kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanity or new credenza, check our our list for our top 5 sites for brass hardware, along with some of our favorites from each.

CB2
Since CB2 opened a free standing store in Arizona, we’ve been even more obsessed with their decor. I like that all their hardware styles are clean and minimal. Plus, most of theirs come in multiple sizes. We just bought these to replace the hardware that came on the vanity in our master bathroom. This marble and bone combo set have a fun vintage flair too.

SCHOOLHOUSE
Schoolhouse always has the most interesting pieces. They are a one stop shop for brass hardware, with everything from cabinet and drawer pulls to towel hooks and brass hardware sets for your exterior doors. We are using their hardware for our kitchen makeover (more about why we’re renovating here), and are really happy with the unique shape we chose.

REJUVENATION
Rejuvenation has some fun and eclectic drawer and cabinet pulls, that we haven’t seen anywhere else. They have a lot of mixed metal options too (love this one). This midcentury knob style could be perfect for any retro lover.

ANTHROPOLOGIE
If you want something more ornate and maybe on the feminine side, Anthropologie has so many pretty hardware options. They’re a bit more pricy than the other options, so we might not use them for a whole kitchen. However they could really transform a vanity or credenza, that may only require two to four pulls for example. I love these with the brass and leather.

WAYFAIR
If you want to search a wide selection of brands and styles, check out Wayfair for hardware. They carry well known brands like Kohler, and their prices are always so reasonable.

  1. It’s funny, we are remodeling a 1925 Dutch colonial, in what I consider “English farmhouse/cottage” style, yet I picked a lot of the same things you did-marble, inset, shaker-style cabinets (but navy), the exact same schoolhouse electric brass knobs and handles. What do you mean “marble-esque” backsplash? Are you doing quartz?
I concur on your hardware choices above, though I’m not positive I’d use cb2 for kitchen cabinets, but they are good for drawers and stuff. Restoration hardware has really beautiful hardware as well.

      1. Hi – I agree that your use of gold color knobs on the West Elm dresser was a brilliant modification. Since it’s difficult to discern just using photos, can you verify that the knobs are brushed brass instead of antique brass? Thanks for sharing this with us…especially those who may be more hesitant and less creative.
