5 Must See Shops in Phoenix

Over the course of the five years we’ve lived in Phoenix, we’ve seen a ton of growth and change. It’s one of the reasons we feel so connected to this city to begin with. To be able to see talented young entrepreneurs make a name for themselves in a thriving city has been so exciting, and we’re thankful to have built some friendships with many of these people as well.

Today we wanted to highlight a few independently owned shops in Phoenix that are representing the desert right! We’re proud to call these people friends and see how they continue to push the envelope with their own unique creative visions. Each of these spots are worth starring on google maps for your next trip to the desert. Check them out below…

PHOENIX GENERAL / FRAMED EWE
Carrying brands like Ace & Jig and Suunday, Phoenix General is run by Josh Haan and Kenny Barett. We met the two back in the day when they ran a vintage store downtown. They both have such a creative eye and are one of the few places in town that carries menswear, which we love. They highlight local jewelry makers and house scents by local candle company, Standard Wax.

Next door is Framed Ewe, which will be like stepping into accessories heaven if you are in need of new eyeglasses or sunnies. I have never seen more beautiful glasses before and the whole team has such a great understanding of what styles work best for your face shape. We’re guilty of indulging in some Garrett Leight frames.

LOCAL NOMAD
Lauren and her team of ladies are like a ray of sunshine, just incase you haven’t had your healthy dose already from the blazing sun here. 😉 We always stop in to chat with them and see what new goodies they have in store. They have a beautiful selection of home goods and their apparel selections truly encompass that clean and minimal desert vibe. If you’re looking for some cute baby items as well, they have everything from books to onesies and toys.

From fresh flower happy hour to brass incense burners and Japanese bath towels there’s something for everyone. Again, what an amazing set of women. They’re our go-to source for floral arrangements for dinner parties (check out the beautiful arrangements they made for a Valentine’s Dinner we hosted) and many of our indoor plants…that fiddle leaf fig many of you guys ask about on IG, is from Camelback Flowershop. We couldn’t recommend them enough. Owner and friend, Teresa Wilson has to be one of the most inspiring people we have had the pleasure of meeting since moving to the desert, and that radiates through each aspect of her shop.

NOONS
Noons is a new edition to the Phoenix scene, giving us SF vibes mixed with a little bit of Portland. Housing companies like Intentionally Blank and 323 Clothing, as well as some local artists, we always walk out with something in hand. I had the pleasure of being on a small business panel this past year with owner, Michelle Nunes, and her genuine approach to creating a thriving business while staying true to who you are has been super refreshing.

PUEBLO
Okay, you know I couldn’t put together a Phoenix post without more plant recommendations. Greenery is the way to my heart. 😉 Pueblo is a fun carefree space with some knowledgable plant enthusiasts. Lush pothos, little succulents, and Birds of Paradise a few of the many lovely plants that fill this shop in the heart of Garfield (one of our favorite thriving areas in Phoenix). Plus, they have a cute outdoor area and greenhouse too!

FOR THE PEOPLE
Last but certainly not least is For The People. Keeping things fresh and unique, they carry an amazing array of mid-century furniture, handcrafted ceramics and unique gift ideas…let’s not forget their fun selection of bikes and custom dog beds. We’re thinking about having one made for Henry. Definitely check them out. Owners, Chad and Shawn are the two behind this place and some of the first local business owners we met when we moved to Phoenix. Their kindness and welcoming spirits are as strong as their good taste.
