Thinking about Window Treatments

So with the addition of the french doors and some windows being moved around in our master bedroom and dining room, we’ve been thinking about switching up some of our window treatments. We have linen Roman shades in some of the rooms in our home, which we have loved, but lately we’ve been thinking about curtains to dress up the bedroom and make it feel cozy, softer. We have some wonky sized windows….there is not a room in the house that has the same size windows as another room. Some are narrow, some are wider than others, but we love them. Dressing them up has been a challenge though.

Seeing these ceilings vaulted make me so happy. We’re getting close to dry wall too!

Here’s a peek at the current state of our bedroom, with some very rough measurements for our planning and online shopping purposes. 😉 We’re debating on keeping the roman shades on the windows that will be on either side of the bed, but are pretty set on adding some dramatic curtains with some texture to warm the room up by the French doors. I’d love to add curtains to the windows by the bed too, but we are planning on mounting some brass scones on either side as well, so it may look too overwhelming. What do you guys think?

We rounded up a few curtain options below to help plan. We are going to go a little bolder with the bedding, so I think we’re going to stick to neutral curtains and maybe a more interesting curtain rod. I love this brass one and this marble one too.

  1. I ordered the Belgian flax linen in multi dash weave from West Elm and just received them yesterday!! LOVE the fabric, it’s perfect. So airy and light but still feels luxurious. I didn’t want the typical white curtains I usually go for to add some warmth and those are just perfect. So hard making decisions on window treatments with all the options! Good luck, looks like you have a great eye for that!

  2. Love your blog! Where can I purchase the blue/orange multi color bedroom rug. It is absolutely gorgeous.
