From Home with Love

Couples Photos at Home - Cozy MorningsOh January, I can’t quite figure you out. You’re the month that’s supposed to bring new beginnings and excitement, but yet, we’re pretty content just lounging around and slowing things down after the wild December we had over here. We’re so conditioned to think that January is the time to make big changes to our routines and lifestyle, but we like our routine and the only thing we felt like we were missing lately has been just some slower, quieter days together. The last two weeks have been good. Really good. We’ve been getting back to basics, back to spending lots of time at home after a really busy travel year, having long personal talks with each and every meal, and it’s made a huge difference in our overall well being. We love traveling. We’ll probably do a ton of it again this year, but while we’re not, we are going to really enjoy being homebodies.  It’s been refreshing to wake up in our own beds every day for a few months now, make some changes to our home and really focus on the details.

New Darlings Lifestyle Blog - Cozy days at homeCoffee Table Styling - Cozy MorningsOur days lately have consisted of lots of morning cappuccinos, Frank Sinatra’s “In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning” LP, and getting our home back to it’s homey status. If you follow along with our Instagram Stories, you may have seen our recent frequent trips to the dog park with Henry. That’s something we’ve been doing a lot of lately and it’s proven to be more therapeutic than any of us thought it would be. It’s been good for Henry to get out all of his crazies while socializing with the other pups, and we get our time out in the fresh air chatting away about our little family and the life we’ve created here for ourselves. One thing we’ve been talking about a lot lately in regards to this little blog here, is starting to make it a bit more journal-esque. Sometimes we feel like we just want to unload on a major theme, but we’re thinking for this year that we’ll tone it down a little, focus on the little things, the day-to-day moments, and the thoughts that are rolling around in our heads all the time.

We’d love to hear what you guys think. What do you want to hear more about? Do you prefer big personal posts every so often, or more frequent daily thoughts? Let us know in the comments.

  1. I like the more personal, casual posts. Day to day stuff that helps us relate to your life more! <3

Thank you for all you share. It's always lovely to read and see.

  2. To be honest i prefer to see more photos…i dont have much time for blog surfing so less talk and more photos is what i like most.

  3. Hi! Your contenct is even better lately but one thing that I would like to suggest you is that you size up on font and spacing between words because it’s kind of hard to read, I know I can resize in my browser but then everything else kind fo messes up. This is just a friendly suggestion, I really like you guys!

  4. I enjoy your interior design posts a lot. You have great taste! Also, where are your jeans and sweatshirt from? Since I moved from NYC recently I think I need it! Thanks!
