We’re always talking about keeping it simple and classic around here. Those are two guidelines we try to think of when adding pieces to our small, historic closets. We don’t have a ton of storage, so we are very mindful with what we bring in. For menswear, Mr. Porter is my go-to. They carry everything from grooming to formalwear and everything in between. Their online space is beautifully curated and we love reading their editorial pieces for inspiration. We recently partnered together to add a few pieces of menswear for our trip to San Francisco.

We have been melting in Phoenix all summer long and just dying to spend some time outside lately. A trip to San Francisco in August is like Phoenix in November, and quite frankly, we just didn’t want to wait that long. Ha! We love to dress in layers and walk around the city, so we felt extremely lucky to get a chance to do that in a month you typically don’t get the chance to.
For a chilly day, I love a denim jacket. They work pretty well with anything and any time of year as a layered piece. It could be worn casually during the day with a t-shirt, or layered with a more formal button-down for evening. You don’t always have to completely change your look for the evenings, just a swap of some pieces works too! We’re always on the go, so we love to have versatile pieces to wear all day.
It’s going to be hard to put these items away when we get back to Phoenix, but those cooler temps will be here soon enough and I’ll be ready to bust out this denim jacket as soon as I get the chance.
