Happy Friday! Somehow this week has turned out to be way busier than we planned, but it’s the weekend so we can’t complain.  We’re looking forward to seeing the Rangers vs. Coyotes play on Saturday for our first hockey game of the season.  When we lived in New York, we used to buy from a season ticket holder and split the hockey season with him, which was so fun.  It will be great to experience a little bit of that fall tradition here in Arizona.  It’s been unusually chilly here these last few days, so sweaters and hockey are just what we need to embrace the change in seasons.

We snapped a few photos the other day on our way to meet friends for dinner.  It was actually cold enough to layer up in true fall fashion, with some classic denim and brown accents.  It’s no secret one of my go-to shops is Madewell. Their denim is some of my favorite (high rise please!) and I love how they’re always giving back with their national denim recycling drive, turning old denim into housing insulation through Habitat for Humanity. The denim truck is heading to LA for the first weekend of November, but you can donate jeans all year round! If you bring in an old pair of jeans to recycle at your local store, you’ll get $20 off a new pair…pretty awesome, right? Their goal this year is to collect 40,000 pairs of jeans! We cleaned out our closet and brought a few pairs in. We couldn’t resist picking up a few goodies while we were there.  Bags, boots & sweaters are currently 20% off.  (Use code: “FALLREVAMP” for online.)

Their denim recycling drive got us thinking about the holidays and ways we could give back.  Each year we like to try to give back and/or participate in a charity event.  In years past we’ve participated in Adopt-A-Family, collected food for our local food bank, and contributed to Toys for Tots.  We’re still thinking of something special for this holiday season.  What are some of your favorite ways to be charitable during the holidays? Please share them with us! 🙂
