We often change up our skin care routine, guilty of always getting sucked in to a new product or regimen.  However, we always find ourselves going back to the same few products that work best.  Everyone has different skin care needs and skin types, so what works for us may not be the best fit for you, but we figured we’d share some of our favorites.

Cleanse: We like to keep things simple as far as cleansers go. A few months ago we tried out Lush products for the first time (we know, we know…what took us so long, right?!) and became immediately obsessed.  Fresh Farmacy has been our go-to by them. Its very gentle and soothing with ingredients like calamine, chamomile, and elderflower.

Deep Clean + Exfoliate: The Spin for Perfect Skin brush has helped to keep our skin clear of any blemishes and black heads.  With the occasional pimple here and there this has been a lifesaver.  It has different brushes, one for normal use, one for exfoliating and even a body brush. This has recently made its way into our daily morning routine. Use code: “XONEWDARLINGS’ for 70% off all face and body brushes by Vanity Planet.

Moisturize: We’ve tried a TON of moisturizers, but we always find our way back to Burt’s Bees Daily Moisturizing Cream for sensitive skin. It’s all natural and doesn’t clog our pores. As far as eye creams go, Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair is an all time favorite. Dab a little around your eye area before bed to fight any signs of wrinkles, puffiness and dark circles. A little goes a long way! Vaseline is also a great moisturizer for dry skin and lips.  We use a little as a lip  every night.  You can even add a bit to your lashes after you take your makeup off, to keep your lashes strong and long.

For the Gentleman: So, we both share all the skincare items listed above.  Yes, it comes as no surprise that men can use wrinkle eye creams and pink facial cleansers too, but you can’t forget to take care of the beard! There are so many beard oils and lotions on the market. Honest Amish Beard Balm is a great all natural and organic leave-in conditioner with a great woodsy smell!

Problem Areas: The down side to having very sensitive and fair skin, is that even the smallest blemish leaves a mark or scar. Keihl’s Dark Spot Solution has hands down been the best product to fade those marks.  A little bit in the morning and night, is all you need. It’s a bit on the pricier side, but lasts such a long time! It also comes in a nice glass bottle and who doesn’t love pretty packaging?

Do you have any skincare items you can’t live without?

  1. These are such good essentials. I recently picked up that same spin brush and I’m eager to try it out! Gotta love Lush and Burt’s Bees. 😉

  2. I ADORE skincare but I’ve yet to find anything I really really can’t live without. I tend to bounce around. I just invested in a few products from One Love Organics that I’m eagerly waiting to arrive!
